The owners were devastated. Their recently completed architecturally awarded property had been totally destroyed by fire. The house had suffered significant fire and smoke damage to the open plan first floor area. The damage was traced to an electrical fault in a kitchen appliance.
Cost of Building and Restoration
The repairs cost over $1.1 Million.
The Challenges
Returning the property to its original state
We organised a skilled team of specialist consultants, tradesman and nominated subcontractors to restore the high level of architectural finishes to their original state. We rebuilt the property from the first-floor slab up. Restoration works included a new steel frame, detailed roof cladding, zinc and architectural hardwood wall cladding, architectural glazing, new internal hardwood flooring, joinery and specialist tile finishes.
High expectations by homeowners and architect
Throughout the tender and construction phases, our team worked hard to ensure the insurance reinstatement works met the high standard expected by the homeowners, the original architect, the original structural engineer and insurance company.
